An airborne 1958 Triton on Ballaugh Bridge!
A really enjoyable commission with a tongue in cheek twist. He's never been to the island, but this client wanted to re-imagine himself in action on the famous TT course at the iconic Ballaugh Bridge. My reference was a handful of photographs of him on his 1958 Triton at approximately the same angle as the drawing. He happily admits that he's never got his knee down and his front wheel has never left the tarmac...the photographs were taken with the bike and client safely in place on a paddock stand! He wanted the image to have a historic feel without the soft focus blur of old black and white photography, so I sketched in one of my favourite mediums - charcoal pencil. Great fun to do, and a very lovely client.
